A fascinating map of Englishness, and Britishness in England

In June of this year I came across a BuzzFeed article 21 maps that will change how you think about Britain written by Tom Chivers.  They are all interesting, some fascinating and at least the last two of particular interest to us, as Coast & Country: No.20, GB journey to work flows, from the geographic blog of CASA at UCL (Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis), notice the car dependency, as if you didn’t know, and, No.21 – a Map of self-declared identity according to the 2011 Census: how English and/or British is each local authority? Created by Alasdair Gunn.

As you’ll see England is English, and the cities are British . . .
